True Peace

Hello everyone!!! We made it!!! We are here (actually we have been here for a couple of days but who’s counting, we’re on African time). This place is amazing and Jesus has already begun to show us a whole bunch of things. Travel was not exactly the best or everything that we expected. It was long and stinky and my tailbone started hurting on the flight to New York and didn’t’ stop till we got to Mozambique. Jess and I both swelled up a ton from the pressure changes and from sitting so long without good movement. We both had “Cankles” like no one’s business. Thursday night was I think our hardest time in travel but it was necessary for Jesus to teach us one amazing lesson on what it means to command and bring in the peace of Christ to any situation or place. We landed in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique and we were totally thinking that it would be a great airport and would have a bunch of things to do. We couldn’t have been any more wrong. The airport was cold feeling, small, empty and desolate. We didn’t make any arrangements to sleep anywhere but the airport because we assumed that it was going to be something that it wasn’t. We were stuck at a place we didn’t want to be. We had to sleep at the airport. A real nasty fear came over both of us as we were truly the minority. People would come up to us and our luggage and eyeball us. Others wanted us to go with them to some hotel and take some taxi when we knew nothing of where they wanted to take us. We were pretty scared. It finally hit us when the last flight came in left and everyone other than the night security had left that we decided to seek Jesus and ask for peace. We were completely alone and the police said that we could sleep there but that they were not going to do anything to make sure we were safe. We were approached by many of the guards but we didn’t speak any words of Portuguese. We needed the peace of Christ to come in power. As soon as we sought the Lord, his peace came. We were approached by one last person but this person was a nice man. He came right after we had prayed and was the last one to interact with us. We found a nice little corner with chairs and sat waiting for the morning to come. We were alone, uncomfortable, and had no water with us or food but Jesus was there. From that moment we didn’t fear for our luggage, banditos, and sleeping surrounded by nothing but concrete and marble floors. We walked around with joy, played games with each other and enjoyed our night at the “aeroporte.” When the disciples were in the terrible storm and found Jesus sleeping they couldn’t believe it. They were fearing for their lives and yet Jesus was drenched with water and sleeping in a storm. He brought a peace from his father that allowed him be at complete peace. We have the Spirit of Jesus in us and because we have his Spirit, we can bring in the same peace that Jesus walked with. To live outside of that peace is where fear, anxiety, worrying, and doubt live. It’s when we live under the covering of Christ that we can sleep in the middle of the storms. Be encouraged by our first couple of days in Mozambique.
Some things you can be praying about: Mosquitoes- I jess have been bitten like crazy and I am so swollen and pusy ☹ I don’t have any fear of malaria, but I am hurting and mega itchy. So please pray that I would naturally repel the bugs! Josh and I are sleeping so great, even on a full size bed ☺ Praise Jesus!!! We haven’t met any of our house mates yet so you can be praying for supernatural connections. We will have 6 single girls and a whole family and us two crazies. Poor Josh is going to be surrounded by women.
We love it here and God answered our prayers for a supernatural transition-we are not tired like we thought. It is so beautiful here! You wouldn’t believe it, the people the ocean, the children and the animals. The lizards and geckos are amazing and so entertaining as the fight over the spider and bugs. The first day Josh found a huge cockroach. But Jesus is so amazing in how He calms our fears! I have never experienced the peace of Jesus like I have here in the last two days. Jesus really is enough in and for everything and every detail! We love Africa

What the heck, my comment didnt make it. Are you screening me. Anyhow glad you guys made it safe. Did you get the book I emailed you?
I think I may be getting a free ping pong table of craigs list. All I have to do is give them gas money and its mine. Jeremy if your reading this then I challenge you, and as Iron sharpens iron we can join forces and when Josh gets back we can hand him a whoopin. So I was wondering when your going to post again.
