Supernatural Favor
This morning I(Josh) was having some quiet time and the Lord began impressing on me the favor he has given us(believers) and the boldness to walk in that favor. In Acts 8 Phillip is told to "go down the desert road that runs from Jerusalem to Gaza." Phillip didn't know what he was going to do once he got there or who he was going to meet. He simply obeyed because he trusted his Father who was sending him. It doesn't say that he was fearful or reluctant because of the dangers that could be waiting for him, he just went. When he was on his way, he saw the treasurer of Ethiopia; a eunuch of the Queen. Jesus impressed on me the importance of what was about to happen. This man was a very powerful man. He was on a desert road where people are robbed and murdered by bandits (this was common knowledge). Because of this man's prestige and power it's safe to assume that he had some kind of body guard with him ready to defend the eunuch. It then says that the Holy Spirit told Phillip to walk alongside of the carriage so Phillip "ran" to the eunuch. Right here stopped me because anyone who was familiar with the desert roads probably knew that when some stranger comes running toward you it could be a trap. It says nothing about the slightest opposition from anyone. The eunuch just happened to be reading the Isaiah passage that talks about Jesus' death; the crucifixion; the very message that the disciples were speaking. This was set up by the Lord to bring the message of the truth of Christ to a powerful man of influence in another nation. The eunuch "begged" Phillip to ride with him and explain what Isaiah was talking about. How many of us have ever had this chance? I personally have never been invited to the White House to explain the truths of the Gospel. Phillip had an amazing favor given to him by the Lord Jesus. He walked a very dangerous road alone, he ran to an extremely powerful man not fearing what could happen, he got in his carriage and explained Jesus to him. What isn't very much thought about is the fact that because Phillip trusted his King and favor that was upon him he was used to transform an entire nation. Ethiopia today is said to be 61% Christian. That's a staggering thought that the favor given us by the blood of the Lamb is powerful enough to take over nations for Christ. The following is an excerpt I found online with wikipedia..."Many believe that the Gospel had entered Ethiopia even earlier, with the royal official described as being baptised by Philip the Evangelist in chapter nine of the Acts of the Apostles." We as Christians sometimes, maybe most times, don't realize the favor we truly have in this world. We bear the name of the King of all creation!! His blood flows through our veins!! Because we bear his name and are of his bloodline now, we CAN walk in the favor that he has given. He is the ruler of all, the King of creation, and because of this we can walk through this creation knowing that the one who sends us will go ahead of us with a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night. It's time we started to walk in the authority and favor that is ours and start taking back ground lost to the enemy. It's time we stop thinking small and start claiming nations for Christ. We should never lower our sights. Our vision must increase if we are ever going to see our world changed.

AMEN, brotha! :) We do often forget the authority and favor God has granted us-- much would change if we would more frequently renew our minds about that. Good stuff, Clark.
